Particle size distribution of cement particles are
maintained in such a way as to give a desirable grading pattern. Just as the
good grading of aggregates is essential for making good concrete, it is
widely agreed that good grading pattern of cement particles is also important.
Unfortunately we still are not sure as to what a “good grading” of
cement means i.e should all the
particles be of the same size or should the size distribution of cement
particles be so as to get a pack density.
Data obtained so far in this
regard is rather confusing.
