Why “slicing” along the form is required
to be done?
At
the form boundary, there is no place for entrapped air to escape. As
such,
immersion vibrator can not expel the air from form boundary. This is
the reason
behind doing “slicing” along the form by means of a flat
plate on edge.
“Slicing”
removes the air entrapped air in the concrete layer along the form.
Absorptive linings
offer an alternative but expensive option.
